Day 18. Packed up at a very humid Garda with our new found friends seemingly quite upset at our departure, especially the German couple opposite. People are usually very pleased to see us clear off. We headed for the autostrada towards Lake Como
and, once again, got caught up in a huge traffic jam. When you see the driving though it is
not surprising to hear that there are so many accidents. We had heard that driving around Como was challenging and we were nervous as we had no campsite booked and were travelling more in hope than planning. Finally we spotted a sign for a campsite at Lenno, which was in the right area to meet up with James and Sharon, who were staying nearby. The campsite was a little bit dodgy, but we parked up and wandered around Lenno, had a lovely "artisan" ice-cream and then the
heavens opened with a tremendous thunderstorm. Later, Sharon and James popped in
and were "permitto'd" by the somewhat surly campsite owner to visit us for an hour or so, then we all shuffled across to Senor
Fiddler's pizza restaurant for a meal as the heavens opened for yet another
thunderstorm.
