Anyway, first stop the Western Motorhome Show at the showground in Malvern. An uneventful trip across and the usual efficient parking by the Motorhome Fun marshals at our designated part of the showground (well away from the others as "Funsters" are a noisy bunch). The show was of the usual high standard, we had a bit of a giggle at the cowboys and injuns and tried to avoid the worst of the suicidal country and western musical dirges. The weekend was nearly ruined by rugby once again as they had announced the European fixtures and the memsahib had to spend ages trying to sort travel arrangements for the European matches. I am beginning to really dislike Rugby - it ruins your life!

On Friday we wandered around the show, picking up some essentials like toilet rolls. We found out over the weekend that some traders actually increase their prices for the shows to recoup the cost of being there. We weren't falling for that one! On Saturday we took the crabby old bus into Malvern and had breakfast in the 'spoons before bimbling around this attractive town. We also sampled some red wine from the Halfpenny Green vineyard - absolutely delicious. We must go there.

On Sunday we climbed up the hills. It's bloody steep - and we were attacked by thousands of flies going through the woods at one stage. Still, the stunning view at the top was worth it.

On Monday we trundled the relatively short hop across to Ludlow to park in my sister's garden in preparation for the shower tray work the following day. On Tuesday it was drop the van off and a good long wander around Ludlow, having first been roped into lugging huge great heavy display boards around St Lawrence's church ready for a display by the Ludlow Art Society. As payment we were treated to a delicious lemon curd cream tea down by the river and we culminated our long day in the Ludlow Brewery - another wonderful spot.

Wednesday it was off to Ironbridge for a couple of nights. We didn't do a lot for most of Wednesday but on Thursday made full use of our annual museum pass by visiting Coalport china museum and Blists Hill Victorian Town.

Friday it was an early start to the Shrewsbury Folk Festival. We went around the Wrekin to get there, and went around the Wrekin again looking for a pitch. Absolute bloody chaos! We eventually found a spot and staked our claim to our bit of land, luckily putting out our groundsheet before Mr Squeezeitin, the shed dragger, tried to get his shed into a spot that didn't exist.

On Saturday we walked into Shrewsbury before the music started and had a bit of a wander around this very attractive town, dodging the occasional shower.
Sunday was more music.
Monday even more music
Tuesday, off home via the RAF museum at Cosford. Bit disappointed with the museum (they didn't have a Harrier GR9 on display) but this was made up for by meeting the wonderful veterans who were chatting to visitors in the entrance foyer.
